William "Mark" Holley

William Mark Holley, affectionately known as Mark, passed away on June 18, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 63. He was born on June 6, 1962, in Montgomery, Alabama, to James Luther Holley Jr. and Johnnie Fay (Cook) Holley.

In 1985, Mark made the move from Alabama to Oklahoma, where he would build a beautiful life with his wife, Carol Renee Holley. The two were married on June 22, 1985, and together they raised three beloved children: William Josef, Jonathan Conner, and Reanna Shea.

Mark had a deep passion for both graphic design and music, particularly classic rock. He was never more joyful than when surrounded by family and friends, or when performing on stage. Known to many as "The Music Man," Mark was a true artist whose creativity shone in everything he did. Over the years, he earned numerous awards for his work in graphic arts and left behind a remarkable musical legacy.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynda Holley Markwell.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Renee Holley, of the home; his children: Josef Holley and wife Heather L. of Noble, Jonathan Holley of Norman, and Reanna Shea Holley of Norman; his brothers: Steven E. Holley and wife Rita F. of Cushing, and David Holley and wife Redena LeAnn of Stillwater; and his cherished grandson, James William Holley. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and the extended art and music community that meant so much to him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to local music programs in honor of Mark's music legacy.

A Celebration of Life honoring Mark will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A reception will follow at Hollywood Corners, 4712 N Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. In true Mark fashion, guests are encouraged to bring their instruments and join in the music between 4-6 as a tribute to the vibrant life and enduring legacy of Mark Holley.
