Arthur Harrison

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur(Art) Harrison. He left us on May 9th 2023 due to a short illness at Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was 83 years old.

Arthur was born on January 21, 1940, in Rabbit Lake Saskatchewan and grew up in the small town of Glenbush, Saskatchewan. He was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy Harrison and grew up alongside his siblings Lena, Walter, and Arlene.

Arthur was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life Marlene in 1966, together they raised three children: Gail, Brad, and Michael in the town of Battleford, Saskatchewan. Arthur worked at Battlefords Union Hospital for over 30 years.

Arthur enjoyed gardening, playing cards on Saturday nights, coffee with friends, watching WWE wrestling with his son Michael, and was an avid curling and hockey (oilers) fan. Art loved spending time with Michael’s dogs Sammy and Ellie and their cat Miss Kitty. Arthur also had a love for Johnny Cash and gospel music.

Arthur will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marlene, his children Gail(Dean), Brad(Jeanine), and Michael, his grandson Logan, his brother Walter(Iris), and sister Arlene, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arthur is predeceased by his parents Richard and Dorothy, his infant daughter Cheryl, his sister Lena(Bud), and his brother-in-law John.

At the request of Art there will be no public funeral or celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arthur’s memory to the Battlefords Humane Society.

Rest in peace Arthur. You will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved you.
