

Joy went to Teacher's College and then to the University of Saskatchewan, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education.
Joy met and married fellow teacher, Arthur Tegart, while teaching in Outlook. After marriage, they moved to Battleford and started their family.
Joy cherished her family, friends and neighbours. She was an active volunteer, formally and informally, within her church and community. Her faith in God was a strong anchor throughout the many chapters of her life.
Survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Tegart; daughter, Maureen Tegart; son, Donald Tegart; daughter-in-law, Eunmi Tegart; grandson, Jonathan Tegart; granddaughters, Anna Westland-Tegart, Emily Tegart, Natalie Tegart, Sarah Westland-Tegart; nephews, Gordon Sinden, Spencer MacDonald (Jacki) and Marvin MacDonald (Shelley Truman); dear friends, Wendy and Cameron Kaye.
Predeceased by her husband, Arthur Tegart; parents, Rodina and Thomas MacDonald; brother, Thomas MacDonald; sister, Isabel MacDonald; sisters-in-law, Ruth Sinden and Catherine MacDonald; brother-in-law, Mike Sinden; as well as many dear friends and extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held at Living Faith Chapel, 1371 103 St, North Battleford, SK S9A 1K9, CA, on March 25, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Living Faith Chapel Soup Kitchen.
