

Anita was born to the late George “Palmer” Muckenfuss and Emma “Lois” Fender Muckenfuss on June 21st, 1937, in Ridgeville, SC.
She graduated High School in Ridgeville and married Ernest “Bowen” Bailey on August 29th, 1960. Anita worked for Southern Bell (AT&T) for over 25 years.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Bowen Bailey, father, Palmer Muckenfuss, mother, Lois Muckenfuss, sister Emily Muckenfuss Spell, brother, Phil Muckenfuss, brother, C.W. Muckenfuss, and, sister, Mae Muckenfuss Hutto.
She is survived by nine siblings: Arline Muckenfuss Bryant, Grace Muckenfuss Spell, Georgia Muckenfuss Walters, Jane Muckenfuss Herndon, Rhett Muckenfuss, Pam Muckenfuss Tuttle (Bobby), Elmer Muckenfuss, and Wallace Muckenfuss (Carol).
Her family and friends will remember her love for working in her yard, traveling to Gatlinburg, TN, and most recently working in her “books” (aka - word searches). Anita was active in her church (Wando Woods Baptist Church). She volunteered in many ways and could be counted to take those in need to appointments. She will be missed by many, and we have hope that is found through Jesus Christ that we will see her again!
A Visitation at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, for Anita will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. A Life Celebration Service at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel will occur Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. An interment at Carolina Memorial Park will occur Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:30 PM.
Flowers will be accepted by Carolina Memorial. The family would like to thank Cypress Place (Summerville) assisted living and Summerville Medical Center for providing great care in her last days.
The family is requesting that everyone who attends wear a mask.
