Betty Lou Williamson

Betty loved God and her family more than life itself. She was a certified Cosmetologist for many years and housewife. She loved being artistic and crafty, consisting of flower designing, sewing and crocheting, various arts and crafts, along with tending to her flower garden. Her most cherished moments were spending her life with her family and grandbabies. Her kind and loving heart made anyone who came in contact with her feel wanted and loved. She was always willing to help when she could, even if it was just words of encouragement with a smile and a hug. She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, William “Larry” Williamson of Hanahan, SC; her daughter Melissa W Smith of Hanahan; grandchildren: Dallas T Smith of Hanahan, SC, Brittany Lee Scalese (Vido) of Hanahan, SC; and her soon to be great-grandson, Baby Scalese; her sisters: Lily Mae Hady of Charleston, SC, and Debbie Burbage of Orangeburg, SC; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, Bunnie and Ollie Brown of Ravenel, SC; brothers: Willie Edward Brown of Charleston, SC, and Edward Lloyd Brown of Ravenel, SC; nephews: Robert E. Brown, Victor Martinson, Travis E. Brown, and Donald Chesser II; her mother-in-law, Mary L. Daniels; and sister-in-laws: Jane Goodman, and Loretta Williamson.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, July 22, 2024 for a visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home from 11AM-12PM. A chapel service will follow at 12PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Betty will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Gardens thereafter.
