The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm with Funeral Services following at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Burial will immediately follow.
Faye was born in Charleston, SC to the late Elmer F. Freeman and Lois A. Mole on June 6, 1945.
Faye was married to Bobby Joe Gainey for over 50 years. She worked for the City of North Charleston Parks and Recreation for many years and as an Administrative Assistant for First Financial for over 25 years.
Faye was a long time Nascar Fan. She loved to go on cruises, visit Cherokee, NC and camping with family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Savannah.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Donna Prowell (John); her son, Bobby Joe Gainey, Jr. (Jessica); and one granddaughter, Savannah.
Memorials may be given to The American Heart Association or flowers can be sent in her name to the family.
