David was a dear friend and basically a sweet, good person all around … good friend, husband, etc. … and I’ve known him since Richmond Academy in Augusta GA.  To my surprise, I bumped into him after we moved to Charleston SC where I currently live. … and I tried to stay in touch with him over the years.  Prayers lifted for family and friends.

David I was so sorry to hear about your passing away. I was never around you very much but when I was you were so funny and nice to be around.  God called you home and be thankful that you are not on this earth in the shape we are today.

I will miss my friend. David and I along with Mike had so much fun growing up together. I met David in elementary school and we remained friends throughout the years. As with many of us, David and I could go years with no contact and pick up our conversation as if no time at all had passed. God rest you David!

My condolences to the family of David Bennett. Jr.  I pray God continues to comfort and strengthen the family during this time.  May the many cherished and fond memories of David continue to comfort his family and friends.  May you all have calming and pleasant thoughts during this time.

My cousin David graduated from The Academy of Richmond County in Augusta GA in 1969.   Here in Augusta we call it ARC or Richmond Academy.   He was a super athlete.  He played all sports,  especially football !  His nickname was Beefy !!!   The Class of '69 had their 50th class Reunion this past fall and I am so thankful that he got to attend the reunion !   Everything was decorated so beautiful  and the food and music was fabulous !   I was volunteering that night and checking alumni in......boy,  he was surprised to see me there !!!   I'm just so happy he made that milestone in his life !!!!  He enjoyed seeing all his old school friends ! I'm sure going to miss my sweet cousin......we've had 70 years of memories that I will always cherish !!!!!!!

David, you're gone too soon.  I'll miss seeing you at the reunions and catching up on stories about Sophia.  Heaven has certainly gained a special angel.  You will be missed here but will live on in our hearts and memories.

David was always such a great neighbor.  No matter what he was doing he always stopped and spoke.  When him and Kevin were cleaning yards at the same time it would always take them a lot longer because they would talk for an hour and then do yards. He always had a big smile on his face. And will be missed. 

I am writing on behalf of myself and a Facebook group that David was a member of "The Friends of Tubman". This was the Junior High School that David attended from 1965 through 1967. David was very popular in school and he has been remembered by many in our group since school. I shared his passing to the group and many of our members are so heartbroken to learn of his passing. Its especially difficult for me because David and I recently learned that we are cousins which has been a source of pleasure for both of us.

I shall remember David as a Pal from the Harrisburg neighborhood where we grew up, then a friend in school and now as a family member. Godspeed David, until we meet again.


My sincere condolences go out to David’s family and  friends. 
I worked with DavId  both at the shipyard and SPAWAR .
Being a Gamecock myself, I can vouch  for David’s Georgia Bulldog ‘enthusiasm’.
I can’t say I ever saw David in a ‘frantic’ state. He kept an even keel with pretty much anything that came along.
I was shocked to hear of David’s passing, but I bet he’ll still be watching the Masters at Augusta National.
