Mrs. Dorothy Groover

Dorothy Elaine Myers Groover, 61, of North Charleston, SC, wife of Jerry M. Groover Sr. passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, July 12, 2014. Born in Moncks Corner, SC, she is the daughter of the late Peter M. Myers Jr. and Dorothy J. Myers McCullough. Elaine loved her family deeply and expressed her devotion daily by putting their needs ahead of her own. For 32 years, she fed and nurtured the children of Remount Road Elementary and then Matilda Dunston Elementary. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmama, aunt, cousin and friend. Elaine is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry M. Groover Sr.; children Angela McJunkin (Danny), Tammy Willis (Chet), Jerry Groover Jr., and Bradley Groover; grandchildren Daniel McJunkin, Chester Willis, Caden Willis and granddaughter-to-be; sister Brenda Robertson; brother-in-law Larry Groover (Cathy); along with a host of loving relatives and sympathetic friends. The relatives and friends of Elaine are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 10 o'clock a.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME chapel, followed by burial at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 5 to 7pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MUSC Children's Hospital in honor of her grandson Chester Willis.
