Emma Lee Heitman

Viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, 2:00 pm, at the Carolina Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Thomas Brown of James Island Baptist Church.

She was born October 23, 1940, daughter of Roscoe M. (Shorty) and Dilish Uzee (Pat) Wiggins. She loved painting, quilting, knitting, crocheting, making jewelry and reading.

Surviving are two sons, Frank D. Heitman, Jr, wife Gail, granddaughter Christina Leigh and great granddaughter Rosa Lee Rawson; and Eric L. Heitman, wife Erika and two grandsons, Austin Lee and Miles Eric and sister-in-law, Glennis I. West.

She was the second of six children, brother Stephen M. Wiggins, and Cleve Wiggins. She was predeceased by F. D. Heitman Sr, Barbara B. Doble, Charles M. Wiggins and her youngest brother, William G. Wiggins.

After 25 years, she retired from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 229406, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The Celebration of Life will follow rom 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.
