

Frederick Thomas Christopher, HANAHAN – Frederick Thomas Christopher, 90, of Hanahan, husband of Sylvia M. Christopher, passed away on June 18, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. A private service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Fred was born on April 30, 1935 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late Hugh Boland Christopher and Doris Gertrude Smallwood Christopher. He served in the United States Navy and was retired from Raybestos-Manhattan (Garco) in North Charleston, where he was employed as a supervisor and fire chief. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Hanahan and was a member and former president of North Charleston Hunt Club in Ravenel, SC. He was an avid deer hunter with his dogs, which he loved and had countless throughout his life. For over sixty years, he was a member of Hammerton Lodge No. 332, where he stood proficient on the Master Mason Degree, helped raise many men as brothers, and obtained life member status. He is survived by his wife of 70 years; two daughters: Deborah Craven of Hanahan, and Susan Hancock of Hanahan; three grandsons of which he was very proud: Adam Hancock, Alexander Craven, and Nicholas Craven; and two brothers: Billy Christopher (Loreta) and Danny Christopher (Eulalia “Lolly”). He was predeceased by one sister: Patricia Ann Knight.
