

She was born June 28, 1938 to Joseph Berry and Elizabeth ( Peeler) Carter. Helen was born on Folly Beach and grew up in Charleston, in the Rosemont neighborhood. She was a graduate of Hanahan High School. She was a member of Sandridge Baptist Church, but attended Baux Mountain Baptist Church when she was able. She retired from Wachovia Corporation after Wachovia bought S.C.
National with 30 years service.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roddie Briley Singletary Sr.(R.B.) and her son Roddie Briley, Jr. along with her parents and her three brothers Joseph, Jack and John.
She is survived by son Joseph (Joe) and wife Renee of Winston-Salem, NC. Daughter Beth Singletary of Lexington, SC.
She was also Granny to 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Helen enjoyed baking her famous cheese tarts and nut cake, along with her fruit cakes cooked in a shoebox. She enjoyed antique hunting with old friends, traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will take place from 12 noon to 2 pm. A Life Well Celebrated Service at 2 pm, burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave. N. Charleston, SC 29406.
