Born in Ash, North Carolina, Hubert was the son of the late Lindsey and Hazel Inman. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Boolen; brother, Bobby Inman; and sisters, Marie King and Patricia Armour.
Hubert retired from RM Industrial Products (Garco) in North Charleston after 37½ years of dedicated service. In 1959, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, proudly serving with the 82nd Airborne Division.
In his younger years, he found great joy on the water, spending countless hours fishing, oystering, and shrimping from his boat. He loved hosting oyster roasts and fish fries for his family and close friends—occasions filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories.
Growing up on a farm instilled in Hubert a strong work ethic and a lifelong love for gardening. He took pride in tending his garden and found joy in sharing its bounty with others. His generosity, love of nature, and commitment to family were hallmarks of his well-lived life.
A devoted member of Charleston Baptist Church, Hubert was a man of steadfast Christian faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bobbie V. Inman; his son, Hubert W. Inman Jr. (Dianna) of Tampa, FL; and daughters, Melinda Wagoner (Ralph) of Hanahan, SC, and Cynthia Boolen of Charleston, SC.
Hubert also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Christopher Inman (Rachel) of Tampa, FL; Jennifer Boolen of Charleston, SC; Matthew Inman (Emma) of Christchurch, New Zealand; and Caroline Inman of Charleston, SC; as well as his great-grandson, Ezra Inman of Tampa, FL.
He is survived by his sisters, Josephine Carson (Larry) and Earlene Meadows (Ted); sister-in-law, Linda Inman; brother-in-law, Robert Armour; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Visitation will be held at Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road, Charleston, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at noon.
