Jo Retha Pope Teachout,80, of North Charleston, wife of Robert Teachout, entered into eternal rest Thursday March 16, 2017. The relatives and friends of Jo Teachout are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday, March 21,2017 at 3 pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3595 Ashley Phosphate Rd, North Charleston, SC 29406 (843)552-1495. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 – 8 at Hillcrest Baptist Church Jojo was born in Georgetown county, SC, a daughter of the late Stanley Stonewall Pope and Bertie Mae Baxley Padgett, one of 13 children, 8 girls and 5 boys. She worked at Kelly’s Barbeque for 19 years and people thought she was “the owner”. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist church and she loved to bowl, play cards and fishing. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Robert “Bob” Teachout, daughter: Bonnie Lynn Clanton, Cross,SC, brothers: Lonnie Pope (Margie) and Sherwood Pope, sister: Sadie Adams, Marcella Russ, Marguerite Carmichael, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
