

Josef "Pep" Pfaffenbichler Sr., of North Charleston, husband of Margie Marlowe Pfaffenbichler entered into eternal rest at 12:11 am at Veteran's Victory house September 29, 2018. He was 79 years old this past July 4. He was born in Steyr, Austria , a son of the late Josef Pfaffenbichler and Paula Pfaffenbichler. He worked for many years in civil service at the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
A private graveside service was held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Carolina Memorial Park, with Rev. Daniel Cooper officiating.
Josef was born July 4, 1939 in Steyr, Austria to Josef and Paula Pfaffenbichler. He graduated from Promenade High School and Steyr Daimler Puch A Gin in Steyr, Austria. He immigrated to the US in 1958. He was drafted into the US Army December 1961 and served in Toul, France. He was employed at Charleston Naval Shipyard in 1965 and retired from there June 1, 1993.
Josef was an avid fisherman, who loved all nature. he was a long-time member of the North Charleston Fishing Club.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Margie Marlowe Pfaffenbichler, North Charleston, son: Josef Pfaffenbichler, Jr (Jamie), and daughter Paula Pfaffenbichler of Goose Creek, grandchildren: Alena Alambeigi. Los Angles, CA, Josef Pfaffenbichler, and Jillian Pfaffenbichler both of Summerville, brother: Herbert Hochreiner, Austria, sisters: Sibylle Pfaffenbichler- Young "Bill" Philadelphia and Christl Windhager, Austria, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Erika Rogers of Georgetown, SC and Reini Fuchs, and Monika Bayer of Linz, Austria. Josef loved his family very much.
"Pep" had Parkinson's Disease for over 40 years. It was a very long struggle for him that he handled with dignity.
