Linda loved her family very much and found great joy in cooking homemade meals for them. She was the absolute best Southern cook. Linda enjoyed every moment with her family. She loved the Lord with all her heart and took every opportunity to share the gospel with others. As a pastor’s wife, Linda led women’s groups, Bible studies, and taught children’s church. In her younger years, Linda and her husband, Bill spent their time shagging at The Pavilion in Myrtle Beach, SC. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening. She had quite the green thumb and could make anything grow and her beautiful yard was evidence of her talent.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cannon (Mack), son, Mike Cannon (Tina), and daughter, Amy Jolley (Roger), brothers, Jerry and Ronny McDowell, and sisters, Eunice Easterling, and Martha Davis. She also leaves with us her precious grandchildren, Shelby Ellis (Blake), David Cannon (Bernadette), Abigail Jolley, Aubrey Jolley, Jesse Gregory, and Kyle Brooks, and great-grandchildren, Bear, Sutton, Wilder, Kevin III, Alyssa, Hayden, and Jaimyson.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Rev. William Cannon, father and mother, Woodrow and Ethel McDowell, sister, Opal Jones, brothers, Roy McDowell and Larry McDowell, and grandson, Kevin Gregory II.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00-12:00 at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremations, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:00-1:00 in the Chapel. The Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
