Beisser, departed this life on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ,
Marilyn lived for most of her adult life in Wayne, New Jersey before relocating to Fort Mill in
2008 and then North Charleston in 2017 to be close to her beloved niece, Diane Brown, and her
family. Marilyn enjoyed a long career in the healthcare industry beginning with her early years
at Bard-Parker, a division of Becton-Dickinson, which led to her subsequent roles as a Human
Resources professional in several New Jersey based pharmaceutical companies. Upon her
relocation to South Carolina, Marilyn continued in this line of work as an independent Human
Resources consultant and later enjoyed her time as an instructional aide in a Montessori
preschool.
Marilyn was an accomplished pianist and cook who enjoyed the company of a wide circle of
friends in both New Jersey and South Carolina. A woman of strong faith, Marilyn was an active
parishioner at St. Philip Neri Parish, Fort Mill, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary.
When friends or loved ones approached Marilyn with a prayer request she could be counted on
to add the petition as a bead on her rosary and place the petitioner “under the Virgin Mary”.
Marilyn was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her devoted and beloved
brother Rudolph F. Beisser and his wife, Karen, of Easton, PA, beloved nieces Diane Brown
and husband Jody of Goose Creek, SC, Carole Jean Stubeck and husband Jim of Chatham,
NJ, beloved nephews John Beisser and wife Aileen of Piscataway, NJ, and Steven Beisser and
wife Lisa of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews Laura Brown
Dougherty and husband Ed, Rachel Brown, Joseph, Matthew, and Sarah Stubeck, Maria and
Natalie Beisser, and Riley Beisser, as well as great-grand nephew Kiernan Dougherty and
great-grand niece Emma Dougherty. Marilyn is also survived by her two cats, Annabelle and
Goldie, the last in a long succession of feline companions.
Marilyn will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her for her steadfast faith, her joyful
and loving presence, her listening ear, and her warm heart.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at Saint Philip Neri Church in Fort Mill on Saturday,
February 23, 2019 at noon.
