Mark Alan Johnston was born to Karl and Joan Bollman Johnston in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Mark’s Dad was in the Army Air Corp/Air Force. which inspired Mark to also serve in the Air Force and work in the field of aviation. The Johnston and Bollman Families served honorably in the military all the way back to the Civil War. Mark was proud of his Southern heritage and cherished his memories of growing up hunting with his grandfather and fishing with his dad on the rivers of Charleston. Mark also loved playing baseball, coaching and umpiring. This love grew from his admiration of his Mom, Joan, who played in a women’s league and took him and his brothers to her games when they were boys. Mark was also given the gift of being an amazing singer, songwriter and musician. Mark loved his family and friends deeply and never met a stranger. He also loved his Clemson Tigers and is rooting them on from above. He was kind and funny and was a devoted father and husband. Mark is the proud father of Mark Alan and Michael Johnston, who will now carry forward their Dad’s memory so that he may live on. Mark is survived by his Mother, Joan Johnston, his sons, Mark Alan and Michael, his loving wife Tammy Key, his first wife and the Mother of his children, Terri Buckheister Johnston and his brothers Joe and Jeff Johnston.
