In her life she accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Burke High School in Charleston, SC. After high school she worked as a nurse’s aide & a housekeeper. Mildred married her high school sweetheart, Edward Joseph Drayton. They divorced. In 1965 Mildred moved to Rochester, NY where she married a friend she knew while growing up in Wiggins, named Arthur David Sanders. She was widowed in 1977. Her favorite scripture in the bible was Psalm 23, of which she taught her children. In 1979, she decided to move back to Charleston, SC to be with her family.
Mildred’s health began to decline in 2018. She was then relocated back to Rochester, NY to be cared for by her daughters. Her health continued to decline. She was then moved to a nursing home. While there, our mom’s favorite pass time was watching her tv shows. The Flintstones, old black & white westerns, & her favorite was “Maury Povich”. She found it amusing when the couples were battling with each other. Her favorite snacks were potato chips, twinkies, & diet coke. Mom loved talking about her past, especially growing up with her brothers & sisters. She loved her children very much.
On Thursday February 17, 2022, GOD decided it was time to take her home.
