Nilda Lagares Fowler

Nilda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and devoted Catholic.

Born November 13,1942, she grew up in Puerto Rico before moving to the mainland. She often dipped cheddar cheese into her stove top made hot chocolate and she could have won Olympic gold for her cross stitch skills. Nilda was a constant presence at Sunday mass and a loyal volunteer for any event the church offered.

In the spring and summer you could often catch her in her yard, cutting grass, pulling weeds, watering her garden, or planting new plants that she grew from clippings or seeds.

Nilda raised 4 amazing children and loved her 8 grandchildren with all her heart. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Billy Fowler. Her children: Christina,Linda, Jeanette, and Greg. Grandchildren: Christopher Jr, Nick, Amelia, Joey, Davis, Luke, Alistair, and Josselyn. She was a beloved mother in law to Chris, Felicia, Dave, and Matt. She leaves behind her sister Ilia, her best friend Rosa, and her cat of 17 years Lallie.

While we are all saddened to no longer have Nilda's physical presence in our lives, we are comforted that she has entered into the eternal life she sought through her relationship with God. We pray her journey was met joyously with the family and friends she lost throughout her life including her parents, Gregorio and Vidalina, and her sister Emma.

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 510 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445 on Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you plant some in her memory or make a donation to the Immaculate Conception Church.
