Mr. Rufus V. Mazzell

Mr. Mazzell was the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus Joseph Mazzell and Estell Hulett, and all of his siblings, Clifford Joseph Mazzell, Betty Lucille Hendricks, Hilma Deloris Duncan, Paul Mazzell Sr., Thaddeus “Bo Cat” Mazzell Jr., Gladys Jeanette Burgess, and Rubin Ira Mazzell, his twin. He leaves behind two daughters, Margaret “Lisa” Mazzell and Lorri Christina Mazzell (Richard Cooper), and one granddaughter, Hannah Margaret Mazzell.

Mr. Mazzell had a strong work ethic and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, whom he loved dearly. He was proud to serve in the US Army for eight years from July 1962 to August 1970. The job he enjoyed the most, besides being a Daddy and Papa, was running his own company, Apex Pest Control, LLC.

The family would like to thank his family and friends who texted, called, or came to see him to keep his spirits up. They would also like to send their deepest thanks to Tammy Chubb Cooper (his main caregiver), along with Dion Dale, Roy Segar, Margaret Linder, and Charlie Sams who helped look after him and were always close by.

The family would also like to send a special “Thank You” to Nurse Katrina from Agapé for being there for them after his passing.
