

Sandra Elizabeth Hegwood, 83, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on November 29, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born in Charleston, SC, to Charles E. Crull Jr. and Helen Weisner Crull, Sandra grew into a woman whose warmth, faith, and creativity touched every life she encountered. Sandra was married for 63 beautiful years to the late Richard F. Hegwood Sr., with whom she built a life grounded in love, devotion, and family. She is survived by her children: Nancy Hegwood of Rock Hill, SC; Richard “Rick” F. Hegwood Jr. and his wife, Jonette, of North Charleston, SC; and Kenneth R. Hegwood and his wife, Patty, of Goose Creek, SC. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Heather Hegwood, April Hegwood, Ricky Hegwood (wife, Eva), and Ian Hegwood (wife, Susie); and a cherished great-grandmother to River Shields, BayWren Hegwood, Daxton Hegwood, and Liam Hegwood. She also leaves behind her beloved sister-in-law, Esther Gaskins, and her faithful and nurturing grand-pup, Coco. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Hegwood Sr.; her parents; and her brother, Charles “Sonny” E. Crull III. A woman of remarkable spirit and talent, Sandra dedicated her life to serving others. She owned and operated Agape Christian Bookstore in Goose Creek, where her faith and kindness shone through in every interaction. She also served as President of the Charleston Women’s Christian Club, nurturing fellowship and spiritual growth within the community. Sandra lived a full and vibrant life enriched by her many interests. She enjoyed reading, painting, baking, traveling, and using her gifting as a seamstress, cake decorator, and hairdresser. Above all, she was a devoted prayer warrior and is remembered fondly as an incredible lady: loving, creative, spiritual, and supportive of the people she cherished. A visitation will be held at 10:00AM, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Peace Presbyterian Church, located at 174 Londonderry Rd., Goose Creek, SC. Sandra will be laid to rest afterward at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC.
