

She was born on May 21, 1935 in Cairo, Egypt. The youngest of three, one older brother and sister, she came from a very prominent family. Her father was Ezzat Dalati,, former President of Credit Lyonnais’ Middle Eastern branch.
She married her late husband Edmond Charky in 1956 and began raising a family. They had two sons and migrated from Alexandria, Egypt, to Geneva, New York and Montreal. In Montreal, she started working as a social worker at a hospital.
In 1969, the family migrated to Los Angeles after visiting family. She continued pursuing her health care career at Hollywood Community Hospital in the admitting department. She was promoted to the Director of the Business Office. She finished the last eight years of her career at Kaiser North and South until her retirement in 1997.
She traveled extensively, visiting Australia, New Zealand, all of Europe, Alaska and Mexico.
She is survived by her sons John and Patrick, granddaughters Nicole and Elizabeth, grandson-in-law Mack Chami, great-grandson Rabia Chami, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends across the globe.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, February 25th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 10800 Moorpark St., North Hollywood.
