

George Sillman, 82, of North Hollywood, California, passed away peacefully on 1/1/25, surrounded by his loving family. He had an adventurous spirit and a heart full of generosity. George was a proud alumnus of the University of Southern California, where he forged lifelong friendships and cultivated a love for learning. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that instilled patriotism, discipline, and pride.
George was a talented and creative spirit. He had a deep passion for hot rods, spending countless hours in his garage working on classic cars that roared to life under his expert hands.
His life is a testament to loyalty, resilience, creativity and love. With a mischievous sense of humor and a zest for life, he had a quick wit and a contagious laugh. Pop was a gifted builder and loved making his kids and grandkids gifts such as go-carts and doll houses. His many artistic outlets included building hot rods from the ground up, photography, home renovation, and many others.
His enthusiasm for cars was matched only by the love he had for his family. George cherished his children and adored his grandchildren, finding the greatest joy in their smiles and laughter. His legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion lives on in their hearts. He is survived by his daughter Laura, son Chyp, son-in-law Bernie, his grandchildren Joselyn, Ethan, Adilyn, Ayla, Madison, Bentley, Julia, Daniel, his niece Liz, and nephew Randy. We will forever remember his wisdom, encouragement, and the unmistakable twinkle in his eye when he spoke of his family and passions.
We ask lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity in his name. His favorite charities include St. Judes, Shriners, and Veterans organizations. He will be greatly missed but always celebrated by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, George, you are forever in our hearts.
