James R. Kennedy, 77, of Burbank, California, passed away on December 10, 2015 following a sixteen-month battle with cancer. He was born in North Hollywood, California on January 4, 1938. He was the son of Ralph J. and Ethel M. Kennedy.
He served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS General J. C. Breckinridge Ship during the Viet Nam Era. His career was spent in the food service industry retiring from U.S. Foodservice in 1998, Local 848, as a 32-year teamster. He held a private pilot’s license and took acrobatic and glider training. He was a member of the Crescenta Valley Sportsman Club, California Rifle & Pistol Association, and a life - member of the National Rifle Association. He was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed snow skiing.
His life was a happy one filled with multiple long-time friends many of whom date back to his childhood.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jay Anne Kennedy and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cora Hatton.
At Jim’s request, there was no funeral service. A private graveside service was held.
