Jeffery L. Coleman, 56, died on April 23, 2014 at Providence St Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, CA from acute respiratory failure and resulting complications. Born to James Russell and Mary Ann (Hartzell) Coleman in Los Angeles on May 24, 1957, Jeff lived most of his life in Los Angeles. After graduating from North Hollywood High in 1975, Jeff began his career in fleet management in school bus operations at Laidlaw Transit in 1983, where he held positions from school bus driver to head dispatcher to division manager. He joined fleet management at Pinkerton Security and Investigations in 1995 and later moved to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) as fleet operations supervisor. In 2001, Jeff joined AT&T Broadband, which was acquired by Comcast in 2002. In 2006, he integrated three fleets in the Greater Los Angeles operations of Comcast, Adelphia, and Time Warner Cable. At the time of his death, Jeff managed the West Region fleet of 13,000 vehicles for Time Warner Cable.
His family and friends will best remember Jeff for his love of cars and wine, as well as for his wry sense of humor. Jeff was kind and compassionate and got along with everyone, as evidenced by the large circle of friends he had from each chapter of his life. Jeff was a loving and devoted son to his mother, who survives him. Predeceased by his father in 1973, other survivors include aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park on May 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of his life at V Wine Room in West Hollywood. Interment will be in the Serenity section at a later time.
