Maria del Socorro Valdovinos Salazar

February 14, 1943 – May 30, 2025

María del Socorro Valdovinos Salazar, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, to Ignacio and Soledad Valdovinos.

María was a creative woman known for her strength, determination, and adventurous spirit. She approached life with courage and curiosity, always striving to make the most of each day. In recent years, María faced illness with remarkable resilience and determination. As a devoted mother, she dedicated herself to raising her four children, working tirelessly and making countless sacrifices to ensure their well-being. Her faith in God sustained her through life’s challenges and joys.

She is survived by her brother, Ignacio Valdovinos; her sister, Alicia Valdovinos; her children: Verónica, Luis, Diana, and Lilli; her eleven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raúl Salazar, Miguel Valdovinos, and Javier Valdovinos, and her sister Margarita Villegas.

María leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, independence, adventure, and humor. Though she is deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with those who went before her.

A velorio/visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606. A sepelio/graveside service will occur Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606. A misa/funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1050 W 163rd St, Gardena, CA 90247.
