We send our deepest condolences to the Stirling Family. May God put his arms around you, and provide strength, comfort and peace during this time of sorrow. Donny enjoyed his life to the fullest.Then he new that the end was near.Being a proud man,he gave it up and slipped away in Peace to be with his Lord. I have so many fond childhood memories with Papa Donny. All the trips in the blue Cadillac. So many parties, so many sleep overs, memories I will always cherish, being the other Stirling daughter. You will truly be missed. God's love and strength to the family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers

I remember all the times uncle Donny would visit us in Jamaica, most times my mother would arrange to have friends over just for the sake of having an informal 'party', to celebrate his visit.  I'll never forget his calm and jovial demeanor. Condolences to Tracey, Roger, Nicholas and their respective families from myself, my mother Denise, and my brother Marc

Where there is love, any life is too short. But losing a dearly loved relative such as a parent and friend, can cause a loneliness unlike any other. To express regret seems hardly enough because bereavement is so personal a matter that, few of us, unless we have experienced it ourselves, can fully comprehend its grief.

 As distressing as it is, Donny's passing provides relief as he had soldiered on with uncommon fortitude through many months of debilitating illnesses. “Alleluia, the strife is o’er. The battle done…” begins one of the majestic hymns of Easter. So it was with Donny; but in his case it was ‘The strife is o’er, the battle won.’  He had been on a day the Lord made, summoned from labor to refreshment to the House of his Lord. 

Donny was a good father, uncle, proud grandfather, an exceptionally good and loyal friend. Those of us who knew him from as early as his Windward Road Elementary School days, remember him excelling as a student leader, and an outstanding soccer player right through his student years at Excelsior High School. Both schools were located in Kingston, Jamaica. The values of good sportsmanship shaped his character as a gentleman from then on. 

To be sure, having the considerations and prayers of good friends will provide the fortitude and courage needed in adjusting to a new life without him. 

For all of us bereaved by his transition, I respectfully suggest that it might ease our pain if we mourn less; but celebrate more with thanksgiving, Donny's wonderful life.

Let us therefore rejoice in the love he unselfishly gave, the patience and courage he exemplified in his illness, the life he led, and in the sure knowledge that he is now at peace. 

While the world is now a far lesser place without him, the night becomes brighter as his star is now illuminating our skies as much as it did our hearts.

“Requiescat in Pace,” dear Donny.
