It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Doris Stone, who left this world peacefully Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the age of 96. Doris was born on June 2, 1928, in New York, NY, to her beloved parents Harry and Fanny Neuman.
Doris lived a life defined by warmth, devotion, and fierce love for her family. For over seven decades, she stood as the devoted and protective wife of Sid Stone—an unbreakable bond that became the foundation of a close-knit family and an inspiration to all who knew them.
She was the cherished mother of Shel, Scott, and Howie, and a proud, doting grandmother to Greg, Alli, Ryder and Chase, who never missed a moment to shower her grandchildren with affection and encouragement. Doris was also a loving mother-in-law to Cindy, Michelle and Kerry and “daughter-in-love” to Mollie Stone. As well as a treasured aunt to her niece Laura, who held a special place in her heart.
Predeceased by her brother, Bob Neuman, Doris leaves behind a legacy of generosity, strength, and spirited kindness. She had a natural gift for helping others, always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, or a thoughtful gesture.
Doris took immense joy in raising her children and took even greater delight in being part of her grandchildren’s lives. Whether celebrating milestones or simply sharing stories at family gatherings, she cherished every memory made with her family.
She was known for her unwavering support, love of shopping, and her ability to find joy in life’s everyday moments. Doris touched the lives of many, not just through her actions, but through her presence—a comforting, guiding light to all fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to walk through life alongside her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Alzheimer Unit at the Daniel Cantor Center, cantorcenter.com.
May her memory be a blessing.
A funeral service will be held at the Star of David Memorial Chapel, located at 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, on April 24, 2025, starting at 10:30 am.
