Eileen K. Froehlich was born July 20, 1929, in Oswego, New York. Died in Parkland, Florida on August 16, 2024. Married 69 years to Dr. Fritz Edgar Froehlich who predeceased her. Also predeceased by parents Anne and George Karch, son Laurence Froehlich, Esq., and sister Marilyn Steinberg. Survived by daughter Georgine (Joel) Scharff, son Philip (Frances) Froehlich, grandchildren Ilana (Matthew) Lipman, Jason (Jaime) Froehlich, Joshua (Jenna) Scharff, Robin Froehlich, Stephen Froehlich, Justin Binder, Michael Froehlich, and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Froehlich formerly lived in Syracuse, NY and New Jersey (Morristown, Tinton Falls, and Middletown). She was an active member of both Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson, NJ and Temple Beth Torah Sha'aray Tzedek in Tamarac, FL. Mrs. Froehlich was a registered nurse and public health administrator. She was a consummate caregiver who dedicated her life to assisting, supporting and helping other people in the most vulnerable times of their lives. After receiving a master’s degree in public health nursing administration from New York University, she served as Director of Nursing for the Monmouth County (NJ) Organization of Social Services and then Executive Director of Nursing Services for the Original Leisure Village (NJ). She was an active lifetime member of Hadassah, serving as President in several local chapters, NJ Regional Board Member, and President of the Broward Hadassah Nurses Council. Mrs. Froehlich served on the Board of Directors of the NJ Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and was an elected Charter Member of the NJ Society of Certified Community Health Nurses. She received numerous awards for her outstanding service & dedication to the profession of nursing.
