Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, dedicating six years of his life to military service. After returning home he continued his life of service as a police officer in Brooklyn, where he protected and supported his community for 20 years.
After retiring from NYPD, Paul remained deeply involved in the law enforcement community. He served in various communities as a police officer in Broward County for a few years. He then served on various boards in Margate, FL and was an extremely active member of the Retired Police Organization - 10-13 Club. His leadership and dedication led him to serve as president of his chapter and later as vice president of the National 10-13 Club. Paul's commitment to his fellow officers never wavered.
In retirement Paul discovered a new passion - fishing- which brought him great joy and peace. He cherished time spent near and on the water, sharing stories, laughter, and quiet moments with friends and family. He also found time to do some traveling with some Doo Wop groups which was close to his heart. As everyone that knew him knew he idolized Elvis Presley and collected memorabilia through the years. So being with the groups gave him much enjoyment.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his Grandchildren Lena and Louis Rinaldi; his great-grandchildren Kaden and Briella Rinaldi; his sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Teresa Barasch and Mark and Kathy Barasch and his other grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Jeri who passed away two years ago.
Paul was a man who cared deeply for everyone around him. He gave generously-his time, his heart, and his soul- to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence , and the love he carried for family, friends and community.
He will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
