

David was born on February 3, 1947, in Atkins, Arkansas, to the late Delbert Gerald Johnson Bernell McVay Walters of San Jacinto, CA.
David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, completing three tours in Vietnam and also serving in Japan. He worked as a Military Police officer and later returned to the states, where he served as a sheriff. After his time in law enforcement, David became deeply involved in the trucking industry, working as a long-haul trucker and later serving as President of ACB Trucking in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He also owned and operated Ashley Truck and Trailer Sales in North Little Rock, where he worked as a fleet salesman and broker.
David was a Master Networker, always ready to help others with whatever they needed, whether it was home remodeling, car/truck sales and repairs, or financing. He loved connecting people and had an impressive network that he was always willing to share. His love of entertaining was evident in the many family barbecues, reunions, and poker nights he hosted over the years, creating cherished memories for everyone who attended.
His love for drag racing was a cherished passion, with countless unforgettable moments spent at Centerville Dragway, Prescott Dragway, and State Fair Grounds Dragway. Many of these memories were shared with family and friends, creating bonds that will never be forgotten.
David met his wife, Rebecca, in 1982, and they were married in 1987. Together, they built a loving family and shared many years of happiness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Johnson; children Rick Johnson, T.J. Johnson, Mike Johnson of Atkins, AR, Kish Moody of Sherwood, AR, Ashley Clark, and Chris Clark of Sherwood, AR. David is also survived by his siblings: Brenda Johnson Fritz and Robert Fritz of Rhome, TX; Peggy Fetchko and Jerry Fetchko of San Jacinto, CA; John and Kathy Thorn of Elko, NV; Nick and Velda Thorn of Fallon, NV. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose names are cherished in his heart.
David’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was a man of strength, integrity, and a deep love for the people around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
