

Janice Thurow, of North Little Rock, aged 102, passed away on February 8th, 2026. Janice was born in Little Rock to Joe and Elizabeth Loebner on February 6, 1924. Janice is one of the few remaining descendants of the Levy family, for whom the North Little Rock suburb is named. She was a lifelong resident of North Little Rock, attending public schools and graduating from North Little Rock High School in 1941, as Salutatorian of her class. She was also a class beauty at NLRHS, being photographed with others at the Old Mill in Lakewood as well as being on the cover of sheet music of the song, You Remind Me So Much. She received a scholarship to Little Rock Junior College (Later called UALR). Janice’s employment included jobs at Veterans Hospital, Internal Revenue Service and the Rock Island Railroad.
Janice’s greatest joys were the family gatherings, celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and holidays together with all of the spouses, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Joe and Elizabeth Loebner, her husband of 57 years, Richard (Dick) Thurow and daughter, Annette “Teeta” (Jim) Rollins of Springdale, AR. She is survived by 2 sons, Rick (Bernée) Thurow and Jerry (Micki) Thurow of North Little Rock; 3 granddaughters, Beth Stiger (Mike) and Joely Thurow of North Little Rock and Anna Kruger (Kyle) of Rogers, AR; 2 grandsons, Brian Thurow (Demi) of Denver, CO and Joe Rollins (Paige) of Hindsville, AR. Her special delight were her 8 great grandchildren, Emily, Catherine and Sarah Stiger, Sally and Lena Kruger and Kinley, Adalynn and Jacob Rollins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical and physical therapy staffs at CHI St. Vincent North and Rehabilitation Hospital. Also, a special thanks to Wright by Your Side Home Care Services. A graveside service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Rest Hills Sherwood, AR. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in Little Rock or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
