Johnny Marvin Whitehead, age 73, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on May 12, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Marvin Whitehead and Phyllis Northcutt Whitehead.
For more than 13 years, Johnny worked as a truck driver, and he also devoted his nights to work as a diesel mechanic. A man of steady purpose and capable hands, he carried a strong work ethic into every part of life, including the projects he shared with his wife—remodeling homes and building two houses together.
Johnny found deep satisfaction in the simple, enduring rhythms of home. Gardening was his number one priority, with vegetables at the heart of his efforts, and later, flowers added with care to help his garden flourish. In the patience of planting and the reward of harvest, he expressed a quiet dedication that those who knew him will long remember.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Brenda, Debbie, and Jimmy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dale Whitehead; eight children, Lena (Luke) Antle, Shawn Whitehead, Michael (Cora) Cook, Nikki Munnerlyn, Stacey Elkassabani, Ashley (Brad) Ewzarzski, and Lucky and Lady Munnerlyn; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sherry (Bobby) Strickland.
Services will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Johnny’s Life at 2:00 PM.
