Karyn Leigh Douglas

Karyn Leigh (Kendrick) Douglas, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 7, 2025. She was born on December 28, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Dr. Gibney Kendrick and Aileen (Young) Kendrick, both of whom preceded her in death.

Raised in Falls County, Texas, Karyn graduated from Marlin High School in 1966. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Harding University in 1969, followed by a nursing degree from Sheridan College in Wyoming, and a Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Karyn devoted her life to service and faith. She spent six years as a missionary in Brazil, where she wrote children’s Bible school curriculum for local churches. She went on to serve as a Bible study leader, Christian camp counselor, jail ministry volunteer, Master Gardener, minister to single women, and voter precinct chair for District 2556 in Tarrant County, Texas.

She leaves behind her husband, Charles Daily; her children: William Allen Douglas, Steven Douglas (Tiffany), and Amy Douglas Robinson (Charles); and her grandchildren: Tennyson, Kendrick, Zachery, Chase, Aidian, Baunan, and Isla.

Karyn is survived by her sister, Betty Lou (Kendrick) Turner, and is preceded in death by her sisters Linda (Kendrick) Fitte and Carroll Lynn Kendrick. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Karyn cherished time with family and friends, especially through cooking, gardening, traveling, and opening her home to others. Her greatest joy came from watching her children grow into godly, community-minded adults, and she held deep affection for her daughter-in-law and son-in-law.

Karyn will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and unwavering faith. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
