Loyd Stanley Martin, age 93, died February 2, 2024 in Sherwood AR. Stanley was born January 31, 1931 in Fouke, AR. He is predeceased by his parents, J. Wilbur Martin and Maud Wroten Martin, and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Elizabeth Martin (Liz); his daughter Linda K. Martin Smith and her husband David Smith of Little Rock, AR, his son Dr. Jerry Martin and wife Christine Martin of Louisville, CO; grandchildren Matthew Smith and wife Dr. Allie Smith, Madison Smith, Allison Martin, and Daniel Martin; and great grandchildren Charles Smith and Margaret Smith.
Stanley served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and following his military retirement worked for Dillard Department Stores, the state of Arkansas, and Discover Card. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel. He was of the Baptist faith. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Runyan First Baptist Church, Sherwood, AR.
