Marjorie Dean Wood

She was born on September 6, 1931, in Little Rock to Arthur and Otha O'Cain McGarity. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Jesse Wood; daughter Beverly Bursk; and sister Dorothy Santoro.

Margie, was a strong woman of faith and was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church. She devoted her life to her church and her family and served them both lovingly.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Billy) Scott; two grandsons, Eric (Jessica) Bursk and Matt (Carrie) Scott; one granddaughter, Jessica (Rusty) Meeks; and by seven great-grandchildren, Avery Bursk, Sawyer Scott, Abigail Meeks, Wesley Scott, Marjorie (Maggie) Meeks, Paxton Scott and Olive Meeks.

Margie was an avid golfer and won numerous tournaments over the years. She loved decorating her house for all of the holidays and watching all kinds of sports. During her later years, the highlight of her life were the visits from her grandchildren and especially the great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, September 22, at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, Bro. Robert McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in her daughter's memory.
