Martha V Read

Martha was born on December 13, 1930 to Jack and Goldie Gardner of Rector, Ar. After graduating high school, she went on to marry Bill Read also of Rector, Ar. in 1951.

They eventually moved to North Little Rock, AR where she devoted her life to making a loving home for her husband and their four daughters whom she lived for.

She was a wonderful cook, artist, and singer. She loved music. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and had a green thumb with her flowers. She was a member of Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. She was also a member of The General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Martha was blessed with more friends than she could count.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Bill Read, her first born daughter, Dana Wilkins (Alan), her sister Dorothy Tidwell (EJ), Brother Winfred Gardner (Louise), Brother J.H. Gardner, and her sister Genevieve Cooper (Edmond).

Martha is survived and missed by her daughters, Marsha Glanton, Mary Read, Julie Mundy (Mark); grandchildren, Bryan Lavigne (Allison), Ryan Mundy (Erica), Trevor Glanton, Alex Mundy (Lindsey), and MJ Mundy as well as 6 great grandchildren.

Her passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of those that love her. Until we meet again…

Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church in Sherwood on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery. www.griffinleggettresthills.com
