He was born in Cabot on March 1, 1922.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Thomas and Minnie Bell Johnson, and by eleven siblings.
Thomas was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and worked as a manager for an auto parts store for over 40 years. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elsie Mae Johnson; daughter, Rita Galloway and her husband Bernard Kuperman; son, Russell Johnson, all of Little Rock; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held by the family.
