Virginia Eleanor Cross- Allsup, 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on October 29, 2024. She was born on February 6, 1939, in Little Rock, to David C. Calhoun and Maria Rose Heinsheimer. A devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1996, Virginia found great joy in her Bible study groups and cherished the many friendships she made along the way.
Virginia had a compassionate heart, particularly for the elderly, and she was deeply involved in advocating for the legal rights of nursing home patients during the 1990s. In her later years, she enjoyed staying active, regularly exercising and taking long walks with her beloved companion and spouse, Stephan.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Dick Cross; son, David Cross, and her sisters, Ida Stevenson and Dianne Ellis.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Stephan Allsup, and her son, Richard Douglas Cross.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR, 72211. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Pastor McCollum officiating.
