She was educated in the Dade County Public School System. She graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Later, she met and married Charles Preston; out of that union, two children were born: Sideania and Roger Preston. Geneva worked for the Dade County Public School System for many years and retired. She was rooted in her faith and was a member of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Geneva was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was known for her delicious homemade pound cakes. One thing that never wavered throughout her life was her style of dressing. She was always emaculent, from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet. Her endearing love for her son, Roger, spoke volumes. She absolutely enjoyed being his mother. She enjoyed long conversations with family and friends caught in laughter. As she aged gracefully as a senior citizen, it was hard to guess her age because she always looked good.
On July 8, 2024, Geneva was called home. She leaves to forever cherish her memories her loving and devoted son, Roger P. Preston (Paula). Sisters Joyceyln Brown, Alethea Mc Neal Jackson, Nancy Mitchell, Zina Mc Neal Jackson, Brother Kelvin Mc Collum, and one grandson Jabari P. Preston(Desarae).Six great-grandchildren Jaia, Jabrielle, Janyla, Jynishia,Jamila, and Jabari Jr. A host of Nieces and Nephews, Other family and friends, as well as a lifetime friend, Shirley Bell.
