

Joseph Saintilus Pierre was born on February 27, 1934 in St. Marc, Haiti, of the late Saintelmy Pierre and Isemena Hilaire. Joseph S. Pierre passed away at Hampton Court Nursing Home on March 18, 2021 after a long period of illnesses.
Joseph S. Pierre, after completing his education in St. Marc, Haiti, moved to Port-au-Prince in his twenties in search of a better life. He enrolled in the Haitian Army and proceeded to become a school teacher where he taught English, Math and Adult Literacy classes. In 1981, Joseph S. Pierre left Haiti to reside in the U.S. In New York, he attended Brooklyn College and Long Island University where he studied to become a Computer Technician and an Immigration Document Translator. He was also a Taxi Cab Driver in New York City.
In 1996, Joseph S. Pierre moved to Miami, Florida, to be near his daughter, Guetie Pierre Augustin. He continued with his education and obtained many certificates from different trade schools to name a few: Lindsey Hopkins and Miami Dorsey.
Joseph S. Pierre loved school and he loved to read especially his bible. He was a very generous person. He loved music and he enjoyed whistling.
He met his first wife Helen Joseph in Port-au-Prince and from this union three children were born: Marie Edel Pierre Beaubrun, Jean Kesnel Pierre and Marie Guetie Pierre Augustin. He later married his second wife Astrude Dorcely and they had four children: Renal Pierre, Duquesne Pierre, Mirlene Pierre Mathieu and Garrnel Pierre.
Joseph Sainvilus Pierre is survived by three sisters and two brothers, 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Joseph S. Pierre will be fondly remembered as a loving father, a joyful individual. He will be greatly missed.
