Luc Colas was born on July 1, 1936, in Limbè, Haiti. When Luc was growing up, he moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and was raised in the Baptist faith. As a young man growing up, Luc was always trying to fix things around the house. He eventually became a successful contractor for many years. Around 1959, he met his past girlfriend, Marie. After two years, they gave birth to their first and only son, Ronald Colas. Luc loved his only son dearly, and made sure he had a great life. A few years later, his son and he came to the United States to live in a better environment. When they entered the U.S., they started living in Little Haiti. Luc decided he wanted to work as a gardener while having his own small business. He sold different types of things. Time passed, and he became a man who everyone loved because of his generosity and positive energy.
On May 7, 2000, his first granddaughter, Erika Colas, was born. He treated his granddaughter like his own and loved her so much. He taught her how to speak Creole, told her stories about his time in Haiti, and cooked her great meals. Luc was a family man and even treated his daughter-in-law Jocline Azor, like his own. Luc loved his niece and nephew, Magdala Colas, Linda, and Patrick Alex, like they were his very own kids. He treated them with love, kindness, and respect.
As time went by, Luc ended up getting very sick. On July 5, Luc was admitted to the hospital and was in a very bad condition. He was back and forth from the nursing home and hospital for therapy. Two months passed by, and Luc Colas was admitted to the hospital one last time. God decided to call his son Luc home on September 18, 2023. Now he is laid to rest in peace. Amen.
He left great memories and will never be forgotten by his son, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, sisters, his six nephews, his six nieces, and his friends. He will always be remembered by his loved ones. We love you, Luc Colas. See you soon!
