Mr. Marcel Henry was born on October 26, 1949, in Port-de-Paix, Haiti to Mother Adline Etienne and Father Steket Simeon. Raised by his grandparents at a young age due to the unfortunate death of his mother at birth. He is the oldest of his siblings. In his young adult age, Marcel left Haiti and moved to the Bahamas. While in the Bahamas, Marcel worked as a Chauffeur for the Bahamian Haitian Ambassador. After spending a little over a decade in the Bahamas, he moved to Miami, Florida in the late 70s to early 80s. In 1986, Marcel met Marie Odette Mitial and on April 16, 1994, they got married.
Marcel was employed by Bill Form Construction, where he dedicated 25 years of faithful service. He worshiped, danced, and sang in the Bethesda Kingdom choir for multiple decades. Marcel was multi-talented; spoke 4 languages, was an amazing cook, and general contractor, and had a smile that could brighten up your day. Most of all Marcel was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend you can count on. Where ever he went he left a lasting impression. In late 2008, Marcel became ill and his health slowly declined over the years. After a long battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia, Marcel is now dancing in the Presence of the Lord.
Left behind to celebrate the legacy of Marcel are: a loving and devoted wife of 31 years: Marie Odette Mitial, two daughters: Sherly (Jean) Alcin and Dolores Jean, two sons: Paul (Shana) Henry and Jevon Henry, his sisters: Talita (Jean) Jean and Anna Simeon ; grandchildren: Tatiyana Pierre-Louis, Zayla Hunt, Destiny Letts, Areli Henry, Serenity Jean, Aslan Henry, Elijah Jean, Amir Henry, Abby Henry, Olivia Jean, Eva Alcin, Ava Alcin and Cyrus Alcin.
