April 5th, 1918 Marie Anne "Meme" Lumene Dussuau was born to Stephen Dussuau and Monique Jean-Baptist in Saint-Marc, Haiti. September 7th, 2021 Meme passed away peacefully in her home of natural causes surrounded by her grandchildren. Her devotion to her family and God strengthened her during her long life.
Meme touched many lives over her 103 years walked on earth. You exemplified the meaning of being a Christian and what God requires of us. Your dedication to help those who are less fortunate until the day you took your last breathe. We are forever grateful for your lessons. Meme's generous heart, wisdom and life lessons will be forever engraved in many hearts.
While in Haiti, she was an active member of her church and her community. She worked for the Department of Finance for 30 years before she retired. She was a well-known seamstress who made beautiful embroidery dresses for herself, her family and close friends.
Meme was blessed with a beautiful and prosperous life. Meme raised her four children with discipline and humbleness. An educator at heart, she taught her children crucial life lessons that helped guide them through life's most challenging circumstances. Meme shared many of her stories to each of her grandchildren, life was not easy but she never complained or asked God, "why me," but accepted God's will for her life and made the most of it. Meme was no one to hold her words. She always delivered timely advice in a stern yet loving manner. Her guidance and dedication to many will be undoubtedly missed.
Although her loved ones will miss her dearly, we celebrate her well lived life.
She is forever in our heart and memory.
