Andrew Francis Gaffey Jr.

Andy was born on October 18, 1930 in Medford, MA to Catherine and Andrew Gaffey. He graduated from Medford High School, and then went on to continue his education at the New England School of Anatomy.

He worked in the heavy machinery industry for 10 years before starting his own manufacturing and service company, Gaffey Inc. in 1974. He built his business from 0 to over 120 employees across 6 states. Andy later sold and bought back parts of the company in 1997 and 2002.

Andy was married to his loving wife Rosemary for 62 years. He was also an athletic man. He enjoyed and was the captain of his school's hockey team as well as playing on the State Championship football team. He also enjoyed snow skiing, and became an avid golfer as he stepped back from the workforce.

Andy is preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Andrew Gaffey, his brothers David and John Gaffey as well as his sister Claire Linnehan.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 62 years, Rosemary Gaffey, his daughter Cathy Carroll, his sister Cathy Everett of Delray Beach, and his brother Edward Gaffey of Boynton Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, First Tee and Ibis Charities Foundation.

A visitation will take place this Thursday, May 18 at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius of Loyola (9999 N Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410) at 10am followed by a funeral service at 11am.
