Daniel Sinnott Sr., age 77, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away on December 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. At his passing, Dan was surrounded by his loving family. He was born at his family’s home on Pennsylvania Ave. in Hillside, NJ on July 11, 1934, the son of William and Bertha Sinnott.
Dan was a business pioneer, starting two high tech companies in Monmouth County, NJ which influenced and employed thousands of people throughout the country. In 1966, with co-founder Jim Bruno, Dan started Interdata, Inc., based in Oceanport, NJ which designed and manufactured 16 and 32-bit minicomputers. In 1980, Dan and Jim co-founded Syntrex, Inc. which was based in Eatontown, NJ and developed and manufactured office automation and word processing systems. Dan always had an open door policy and wanted to make sure that people were having fun while working hard. Dan was on the Board of Trustees for Monmouth University and several high tech companies. Dan was currently employed as Director of Finance for Sinnott Wolach Technology Group with his wife Margaret and partner Jeff Wolach.
Dan’s loss will be felt by so many that enjoyed his company.
Surviving Dan is his loving wife Margaret, with whom he moved to the PGA National community in Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1993. He is also survived by his children with Nancy Sinnott, Daniel, Jr. , Jeffrey and wife Cristine, Diane Lomet and husband Victor, Paul and wife Donna, 9 grandchildren, brothers William and Frank and sister Johanna Mims, brother in law and good friend Terry, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dan attended Hillside High School, Newark College of Engineering, and also received a master’s degree from Ohio State University. As a proud American, Dan served in the US Air Force.
Dan’s many hobbies include boating and fishing out of Brielle, NJ, model railroading, watching Fox News and golfing. Dan was fortunate to be a member of Deal Golf Club in Deal, NJ and PGA National GC in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Traveling the world was a major part of Dan’s business and personal life. Dan attended church at Holy Spirit, Asbury Park, NJ, St. Anselm’s, Wayside, NJ and St. Patrick’s of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
A memorial service celebrating Dan’s life will be held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on January 28th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407-2387.
