I just found out about Don’s passing. I worked with Don for many years at PBSO .  He will be missed by all.  





As a young child I always loved stories  Uncle Don shared. Being a adult now I will cherish his stories.  I will never forget when he told me he was going to be a Grandpa.  I will miss your laughter and your funny stories. 

Always a wonderful friend and supervisor, may you fly and rest in peace my old friend.

Don you were a great friend and mentor.  The words you shared with me I have passed down to my own children.  "You can never replace your Heart, Your Character or your Reputation.  You carry those with you for Life!"  Godspeed my friend. See you on the other side.  Rest in Peace.

Don and I were close friends for many years. I was his road Sgt in the North Sub. I was very close to the Cine Family also. Hedy andI send our sincere condolences to Barb, and to all of the Cline Family and friends. RIP Don, you have severed the PBSO and your country.

We got to know the Gerth’s  family, as our daughter, danced with their daughter Meg. It wasn’t long after we thought of them as family. 
Don was a warm and sincere man. It was a pleasure to know him and enjoy his sense of humor. 
I love hearing him tell stories,  about his adventures as he served our country. Don’t know why things happens the way they do. Only God knows why. He is now out of  pain and suffering, and with the angels. Sending love and prayers  to you  Barbara , Megan and rest of your family. 

Thank you, Don "Crabby" Gerth, for your sense of humor, your FIGHTING spirit, your wisdom and your heart of gold. You truly never gave up and always had a joke to crack no matter what you were going through. Your stories from the military and your career had me thinking you must have had 9 lives. You were a light in my life and an inspiration in so many ways. I miss you so much.
To Barb & Megan and the rest of the family.... I am so sorry that he had to leave you so soon. May God rest his soul and ease his pain. No more suffering where he is. I am praying for your comfort and peace through this very difficult time.

Don and I worked together for  many years at the PBSO, he was a gentleman and a true professional.  He was an accomplished pilot and an officer.  His integrity was beyond reproach.  He was always willing to share a humorous joke or story. His friendship will be missed but he lives on without pain or worry.  Prayers for him and all of his family.

Barbie and Family: I want to offer my condolences on the passing of Don. Although we didn’t work directly together, we did interact quite frequently agency to agency. I had flown with him a number of times and was always impressed with his professionalism and ability to maneuver an aircraft. I also remember his sense of humor and the jokes he would come up with. Hold on to the special times you shared together and I know it will help you through the grieving process. May Don Rest In Peace. Chief Southard (Mike) Fire Rescue (Retired).

Thanks to Don for his service to our country and his service to Palm Beach County Sheriff Department. I remember the many discussions he and Tom would have at family get togethers. Each had their own ideas of how things should be. May God give you comfort as you celebrate his life
