Born November 6, 1937 in New York, he was the first child of Lillian Brown Souden and Edward Brown. After serving in the USCG, he moved to South Florida in 1965. An avid golfer, he was a long time member of NPB County Club. Don enjoyed handicapping the dog races at PBKC.
He began his media career in 1970 at WEAT AM, FM, TV. Don also worked for WPEC, WPTV, Palm Beach/Newport Jai Alai and started Don Brown Marketing in 1983. Don served as President of the Advertising Federation of the Palm Beaches in 1984 and was recognized for his contributions to advertising with the AAF's Silver Medal Award in 1996.
He is survived by his brother Buzz (Denise), daughter Donna Madkiff (Bob), his son Bill (Betsy), grandchildren Lewis, Jaime and Bill (Yvette), his great granddaughter Sophia, his dear friend Christine Pitts, her son Bradley and his companion Mickey Blanchard and her son Michael.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 2 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum, 754 US 1, North Palm Beach, FL.
