Garrett Lucas Mann

Garrett Lucas Mann was granted his angel wings on July 23, 2012 following a lifelong illness of mitochondrial disease. His final days were spent with family and friends that Garrett had touched in some small way.

Garrett's life would seem so short to many, but for those who were touched by him, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. His infectious smile could capture the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.

Although Garrett's illness continually weakened and challenged him, he possessed strength, perserverance and the ability to overcome incredible odds. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Garrett loved walking at the beach, going on the boat, seeing his friends at school, listening to music and just being with those who loved him.

With Garrett's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated, and although we will miss him everyday, especially his precious smile, he will always remain forever in our hearts. Through Garrett's teachings about life, we were able to create many wonderful memories and it has been an honor and a privilege to be his parents.

Garrett leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life.

Garrett is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Paula Mann; his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Marianne Glover; his paternal grandparents, Les and Anne Mann; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at St. Clare's Catholic Church in North Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 12:00pm. The family will be receiving visitors at 6 Wycliff Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL following the service.
