Jack was born on September 10, 1935 in Bay Village, Ohio. He grew up in Henrietta Township and graduated from Henrietta High School. After high school he joined the army. While serving in Panama he was invited to a party in Rio de Janeiro Brazil where he met his wife Margaret (also known as Klem). They were married on July 4, 1958. Jack made friends everywhere he went with his outgoing personality, and lived a happy life!
Jack retired as a Union Carpenter. He enjoyed growing up and raising his family at the family farm, Hillcrest Orchards in Henrietta. He then retired and moved to Vermilion Ohio and then split his time between Vermilion and Palm Beach Shores, Florida (snow bird activity).
Jack is survived by his wife Margaret (also known as Klem). Jack is also survived by his children, son Jeff Dodd of Vermilion (wife Julie), daughter Robin Dodd of Maumee, Ohio, and special “fur-person” Molly.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Gladys Crowner Dodd; and brothers Bill (William) and Bob (Robert) Dodd.
The family would like to thank Jack’s long time Cardiologist Dr. David Joyce in Ohio and Dr. Augusto Villa in Florida for their compassion and care.
A private burial will be done in Ohio at a future date.
The family suggests Memorial contributions to either of these charities: St. Francis Animal Sanctuary 12516 Cherry Road Vermilion, Ohio 44089 or The American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
